Filming in the Dark in Bat Dung
The attractions of filming! Members of the Planet Earth team try to shoot in some caves in Borneo, which are totally covered in guano and cockroaches. They set-up a weights and pulley system that will enable one continuous shot, with the camera moving steadily all the way up to the heart of the Gomantong Cave.. It takes several days and the conditions are very unpleasant. It鈥檚 bad enough trying to film in the dark, but here they are also surrounded by bugs and dung, which get everywhere. The featured crew are Chadden Hunter; Justin Anderson and Ted Giffords. The narrator is David Attenborough.
