An electronic petition wakes the world to one billion hungry people; News of the Apps 4 Africa competition; The trial of Super High Vision television; Art lovers are scanned for art.
The actor Jeremy Irons is angry about the one billion people on the planet who are hungry. He joins forces with the organisers of a website 1billionhungry.org to alert the world to the plight of these suffering people. The founder of the site, Riley Crane explains how the online petition works, and why it is of such urgent necessity.
East Africa's Got Talent – it's not a TV talent show, but Digital Planet's way of describing the army of developers from across that region with bright ideas for some great mobile phone apps. The competitors reveal their entries.
Ultra high definition TV, Super High Vision is taking HD to the next level. Gareth Mitchell is given a trial in front of a three metre wide screen with a recording made by one of only three Super High Vision cameras in the world.
The digital artist, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer unveils his new work in Manchester in the north of England. The exhibition Recorders, encourages visitors to have their fingerprints scanned, their faces photographed and logged, and even a sample of their voices recorded. Azi Khatiri reports.
