Eighty years ago today, the R101 Airship left Cardington hangars on its maiden voyage to India. But a few hours later, the huge aircraft crashed in France, killing most of the passengers and crew.

Yesterday a memorial service was held to remember those who died. Simon spoke to Airship historian and author John Swinfield.
