BP claims concerns

Ken Feinberg, compensation czar for the BP oil-spill, says many of the claims that have been lodged, are undocumented and some may be fraudulent. Plus, should swearing be banned at work?

Thousands of American businesses are struggling to recover from the after-effects of the disastrous BP oil-spill.

BP has set aside 20 billion dollars for compensation, in a fund called the Gulf Coast Claims Facility. The man in charge of it, US lawyer Ken Feinberg, tells Lesley Curwen that a quarter of the claims made have no documentary evidence to back them up, and some may be fraudulent.

Plus, are performance appraisals worthwhile?
Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times says they are a total waste of time and should be scrapped.
