Britten: Young Person: Guide to the Orchestra (Op. 34)

Charles Hazlewood uses Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra as a starting point to understanding the anatomy of the orchestra.

In 1947 Benjamin Britten composed his celebrated "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" in which he "took the whole orchestra to pieces and then put it back together again" in order to give the listener a better understanding of how it works. Charles Hazlewood offers the same material as a starting point and probes the subject a little deeper.
