Jim Davidson on his new play Stand Up and be Counted

Jim Davidson talks about his new play, and Michael Bolton looks ahead to a Bournemouth gig. Southampton's Guildhall Square reopens and more from our archives. (Paul Miller Soul Show on DAB only).

Neil's Sunday evening programme is a mix of reviews and previews from the world of arts and culture, mixed with a selection of music that will leave you wanting more.

For millions of people, he is the comedian who speaks his mind. After shooting to fame on New Faces in the 1970, Jim Davidson became a regular fixture on our screens and toured the country as a stand up comic.

Now, Jim has written his own play, he tells Neil why he chose to bring the production to Southampton鈥檚 Mayflower theatre so early in the 2011 tour.

As a brand new skate park opens in Portland, Neil meets some of those involved in building the facility.

Michael Bolton looks ahead to his forthcoming concert at the Bournemouth International Centre.

And Neil delves into 大象传媒 Radio Solent鈥檚 archives, giving you another chance to hear what happened when Pam Gillard went behind the scenes of a telephone exchange.

Lena Samuels reports from the grand re-opening of Southampton鈥檚 Guildhall Sqaure and reviews the DVD A Time to Kill with Sandra Bullock.

And as always you can help compile another A to Z playlist.

For those on the roads across the South of England, there is travel news as it happens. And a smile is promised as the weekend draws to a close.

大象传媒 Radio Solent offers a choice of listening on a Sunday evening, with Neil on 96.1 and 103.8FM and on the 大象传媒 iPlayer, and The Paul Miller Soul Show on digital radio and the 大象传媒 iPlayer.
