The teasmade was once found in many a British home. Epitomising our love of tea combined with the convenience of a relaxed lie-in, at one time they cost two weeks' wages and were the height of sophistication. Their rise and fall in popularity is described by teasmade enthusiast Sheridan Parsons, who has a large personal collection of teasmades in her home.
