Wounded Sailors Protest
The wounded and disabled sailors protest at their treatment at the Hospital. Cooke recommends that a shocked Captain Baillie be removed from his post for exposing the abuse.
Lady Sarah watches her maid hold her son. Garrow asks her if she thinks she has sacrificed her son for him. She says that her separation from Samuel is because of her husband. Sir Arthur raises his glass in a toast to paternity.
Southouse urges Garrow to beware of his reasons for defending Baillie. Sir Arthur is called to be a witness and tells Garrow that he understands what it is to seek redress. Garrow warns a defiant Sir Arthur not to tell him of the law.
