24/12/2010 Prisons Special

A special Politics UK programme about crime, punishment and forgiveness.

Fitting the punishment to the crime is long disputed territory in British politics. From prison works to prisons as academies of crime, as Dr Johnson called them, politicians have struggled to deal with lawlessness and its consequences. In this Christmas edition of Politics UK we'll be examining the work of The Forgiveness Project which aims to get criminals to confront the effect of their actions by meeting their victims. But can it really change the lives of career criminals? Find out in Politics UK from High Down Prison, presented by Susan Hulme.
