Northants County Council announces draft budget
As Northamptonshire County Council announces how it plans to save 拢130m over the next four years, Joe assesses how local services will be affected and asks how many jobs will go.
Six hundred people could lose their jobs as a result of budget cuts announced by Northamptonshire County Council.
The authority has to save 拢68m next year and 拢130m over the next four years. It's planning to make reductions in 95 separate areas.
As part of the proposals, lollypop patrols could be axed, streetlighting in some areas switched off and eight libraries could close.
The budget has been criticised by both Labour and Liberal Democrat opposition groups on the county council and will now go before the scrutiny panel.
