A Mozart Mash-Up
As part of 大象传媒 Radio 3's The Genius of Mozart season, the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra have been out and about discovering ways that Mozart's music still has an impact on life today.
We met Eduardo Miranda, professor of computer music at the University of Plymouth. Eduardo composed Mozart Reloaded, a piece for live piano and computer, by first taking small fragments of Mozart piano sonatas. He then fed them through a computer programme and worked them back together to create a single composition.
In this short film you can hear more from Eduardo about the making of Mozart Reloaded and the challenge that was set two composition students to create their own Mozart Mash-Ups.
