At the age of about 14 Roger Guiste discovered hip hop. It was the beginning of a passion for freedom that the music gave him to express himself.
At the age of about 14 Roger Guiste discovered hip hop. It was the beginning of a passion for freedom that the music gave him to express himself. It also is at the core of his belief that community is something you need to be involved in if you want make changes and has led him to work as a support worker for homeless people with drug and alcohol problems.
Alison Moore from Farringdon went to Thika in Kenya in 2005, where she worked with street children. She was helping out at a school and asked the headteacher what help did they need most. She was told that giving the children breakfast would be the best thing anyone could do for them as many of them walked hours to get to school. Alison came home and set up the Porridge Club in 2006 - the first one opened in Thika.
