It's almost exactly a year since a popular young journalist died in her Wokingham home because of carbon monoxide poisoning. Katie Haines was 31 when she collapsed in the bath and drowned after succumbing to the deadly gas. Yesterday an inquest into her death heard that her boiler had been inspected just three months earlier and was deemed to be at risk of being dangerous. But Katie and her husband Richard simply didn't recognise how serious that could be and nothing was done about it. This is now a family determined their tragedy will not happen to others.
