Royal Berkshire Hospital invests in the Berkshire Cancer Centre
Dr Jane Barrett tells Andrew what the Berkshire Cancer Centre does and why the investment is important to Berkshire's cancer patients.
Royal Berkshire Hospital is investing 8 million pounds in new equipment at the Berkshire Cancer Centre, it's the biggest investment since the centre opened in 1989. In the last year the cancer centre has seen around 3,600 new patients and dealt with 43 thousand follow-up appointments. But once the new linear accelerators are installed they'll be able to see a third more patients, around 12 hundred per year.
Dr Jane Barrett is a consultant at the centre and also President of Royal Society of Radiologists, she told just what they do.
