"No lights, no running water": Midwife Suzanne on her experience
After swapping her clean modern hospital in the West Midlands for west Africa, Suzanne shares her feelings.
The Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield was certainly different to Redemption Hospital in Liberia - no mains electricity, an unreliable generator, and no running water.
In this exclusive online interview, she tells what it was like to work in one of the poorest countries in the world, how her dislike of constant filming means she'd never want to be a film star, and how off-putting it was to share a bedroom with a mouse - or possibly a gecko.
