Improving housing in east Lancashire

The leader of Pendle Council says he expects the government will eventually provide more funding to complete housing improvements. Mike Blomeley is confident existing schemes can be completed.

The leader of Pendle Council says he expects the government will eventually provide more funding to complete housing improvements. The Audit Commission has described cuts to the pathfinder schemes, which include the demolition and refurbishment of existing homes and the building of new ones in east Lancashire, as untimely and premature. The Conservative council leader in Pendle, Mike Blomeley, who's travelling to London next week to lobby for more funding, says he's confident existing schemes can be completed.
