On today's programme film critic Nigel Floyd reviews Thor, Kenneth Brannagh's take on ancient Norse mythology. This Marvel fantasy epic charts the tale of the mighty god of thunder, played by Australian Chris Hemsworth.

Literature critic Maya Jaggi talks to Mark Coles about renowned Moroccan writer Tahar Ben Jelloun's new book A Palace in the Old Village. The book tells the story of an immigrant from Morocco who has spent the last 40 years working in France, and is now facing retirement and plans to return to his village.

And Juliet Mayol takes us to Burlafingen, a small German village lost in the countryside between Stuttgart and Munich, where an incredible international art museum has opened. The Walther Collection is dedicated to portraiture and social identity through the work of some of the most renowned artists of modern and contemporary African photography.
