The Controversial Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies, tells Len Tingle AV put the little known English Democrat in office. In the 2009 election second preference votes allowed him to overtake the favourite and win. First-past-the-post would have put made the horse racing enthusiast an also-ran.
