The Argentinian novelist Ernesto Sabato died at the weekend, just a few weeks before his 100th birthday. Best known for his novel The Tunnel, he was also a political figure who chaired an investigation into the disappearance of thousands of people under Argentina's military dictatorship. The Strand discusses his life and work.
