Councillor David Palethorpe will be leading Northampton Borough Council. This is Councillor Palethorpe's third consecutive term as a borough councillor, previously being a portfolio holder for housing and as leader of the Conservative group for the past two years.

Councillor Alan Bottwood will be the Council's portfolio holder for Finance. Councillor Bottwood is a property developer who has lived in our town for 11 years. This is his first term as a Borough Councillor but has been very active representing his local community, serving as the Vice Chair of Upton Parish Council since 2008.

Councillor Tim Hadland will be the Council's portfolio holder for Regeneration and Enterprise. Councillor Hadland has served on the Council for 20 years, previously being Mayor, the Leader of the Council and portfolio holder for Finance. Throughout his career Councillor Hadland has advised town centre based businesses and property developers.

Councillor John Yates will be the Council's portfolio holder for Planning and Environment. Councillor Yates has served on the Council for a number of years, and has previously been a member of the Council's Overview & Scrutiny Committee.

Councillor Christopher Malpas will be the Council's portfolio holder member for Housing. Councillor Malpas has served on the Borough Council for eight years and County Council for six years. He has not been a cabinet member before, and was the Chair of the Council's Overview & Scrutiny Committee.

Councillor Michael Hill will act as the Council's Deputy Leader and portfolio holder for Community Engagement. He has served on the Council for 12 years and County Council for four years. Councillor Hill is a former Mayor and portfolio holder for Community Leadership.

The Cabinet will be supported by Councillor David Mackintosh who will act as Advisor to the Cabinet. Councillor Mackintosh is the County Council cabinet member for Strategy, Communications and External Relations as well as working for the Conservative Party advising the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. He has not been a Borough Councillor before, but has served on the County Council for the last two years.
