Todmorden Curve

Plans to reopen the Todmorden Curve train track have been given the go ahead by engineers at Network Rail, but funding - of up to 拢10m - has yet to be found to relay 400 metres of track at Todmorden.

How good a deal do you get on the train in Lancashire? A new report says some fares should rise, and there's still no money to reopen a vital rail link to Manchester from Burnley in east Lancashire. Plans to reopen the Todmorden Curve have been given the go ahead by engineers at Network Rail, but funding - of up to 拢10m - has yet to be found to relay 400 metres of track at Todmorden. It currently takes an hour and 20 minutes to get from Burnley to Manchester by train. This new route would cut that to just 45 minutes.
