Prize Pigs, Dogs of War and your Desert Island Luxuries

Edith Piaf is the ideal castaway.... At least that's what the guests on Desert Island Discs reckon.

"Non Je Ne Regrette Rien" has been picked 42 times by various notable castaways on the classic Radio 4 show, more than any other popular song - but what would you take?

We'll allow you one book, one tune and one luxury item as for One Night only the Late Show becomes "GEORGEY'S GETAWAY GRAB-BAG"!!

Also:
New Yorker Gary Shteyngart is to have a pig named in his honour after becoming the first American to win the Wodehouse Prize for comic fiction.

The author won for his novel 'Super Sad True Love Story', and will be honoured at the Hay Literary Festival, where a local pig will be named after his book!

What's the oddest gift you've ever given or received?

And do your pets have a more unusual name?

And finally:

Adolf Hitler tried to turn Man's Best Friend into the Allies' worst enemy as it has emerged that a special 'dog school' was set up by the Germans.

The Nazi canine recruits were trained to speak (?) and tap out signals using their paws, with one reportedly able to say 'Mein Fuhrer' when asked to identify the Nazi dictator himself.

So VE VANT your Songs For Ze Dogs Of Var!!
