A Suffolk soldier's view of Afghanistan
Film shot by a Suffolk soldier of a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan will be screened on the 大象传媒 tonight.
Plus does Ipswich Central deserve to carry on managing our county town?
Soldiers have been filming themselves on duty in Afghanistan for years, but now the MOD has released remarkable footage shot by soldiers in Helmand province for a new 大象传媒 Three documentary series.
Our War tells the story of a close-knit group of friends from 3 Platoon, of the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian regiment. They were sent to Helmand in 2007, and for most, it was their first experience of war.
The tour was filmed on a helmet camera by the platoon sergeant, Simon Panter from Suffolk, who captured the moment when one of his men, 19-year-old Private Chris Gray, was killed in a Taliban ambush.
We speak to Colour Sergeant Panter and hear extracts from the film.
Plus Ipswich Central tells us why it deserves to carry on looking after our county town.
And we're there as self-confessed grumpy old man and world'renowned keyboard player Rick Wakeman lends his support to Cats Protection here in Suffolk.
This programme is a repeat. Please listen carefully as our text and phone lines may have closed and you may still be charged. Enjoy the show!
