Dom discusses Manston airport's future with its chief executive, Charles Buchanan. Manston bosses are trying to persuade the government to subsidise a new passenger service from the Thanet airport.
As the fruit growing season begins, Dom hears how the government has issued 21,000 work permits, mainly to people from Romania and Bulgaria, who do not yet have full access to work in the UK. Meanwhile, Kent's farmers are being urged to pay higher wages to attract local workers instead of relying on temporary migrants from Eastern Europe.
