Nowton Country Fair horse terror and NHS red tape

Mark Matthews sits in. A woman is critically injured after a horse bolts at Nowton Country Fair. We have the latest.

And the Suffolk war veteran upset by NHS red tape.

Mark Matthews sits in. A woman is in a critical condition after she was run over by a horse and cart at the Nowton Country Fair in Bury St Edmunds. Another seven people were taken to hospital following the incident. We hear from stall holders who witnessed it and the chief executive of St Edmundsbury Borough Council gives us the latest on the investigation.

We investigate the NHS red tape that means an 89-year-old Suffolk war veteran must keep making a 140-mile round trip to get hospital treatment, which is available less than two miles from his home. Roy Headling has emphysema but has been told the way treatment is funded means he can't go to Ipswich Hospital for the non-invasive ventilation he needs.

Plus a new report suggests disabled people are being left to suffer violence, harassment and abuse because police efforts to tackle disability hate crime are failing them.

Suffolk police were one of 14 forces who took part in the research. We hear what they're doing to try and improve things.
