With the war in its tenth year, coalition forces are looking to the future - training and fighting alongside the Afghan National Police and Army, so that they can continue to fight the Taliban when the withdrawal comes. But they also need to reduce civilian casualties and ensure that no more innocent men, women and children are dragged into this conflict.
