School appeal

Pauline Reucroft from Leyland, who's lost an appeal to send her two children to the same primary school, says the county council has failed to use common sense.

A woman from Leyland says it's unfair her two children have been told to attend different schools, a 30-minute walk apart.

Pauline Reucroft and her family have returned to Lancashire after two years in Dubai. Her son had already been given a place at Moss Side Primary.

She applied for a place for her daughter after the deadline had passed, and was told she'd have to attend a different school.

Pauline, who doesn't drive, has so far been unsuccessful in her appeal. She's now taking her case to the ombudsman, and says it's been badly handled by the county council.
