The Metropolitan Police is checking for possible links between Anders Breivik and far-right extremist groups in the UK, after claims by Breivik that he had an English mentor. In an online manifesto, he also boasted of having hundreds of friends on Facebook who are members of the English Defence League.

Milton Keynes councillors are due to discuss whether to buy valuable land in the new city which is owned by the government. Many sites, such as the MK Bowl, are under the control of the Homes and Communities Agency.
