Heavy policing in London sees the capital enjoy a relatively quiet night, but Manchester, Salford and Birmingham experience a night of violence and looting.

There's minor disorder in Northamptonshire too. South Northamptonshire Conservative MP Andrea Leadsom talks to Stuart Linnell and blames "feckless parents" and poor parenting. There is huge reaction from listeners on the phone, on text, via email and on Facebook.
