Rail commuters are to be charged hundreds of pounds more for their season tickets. The average cost of an annual pass is going up by 8%. Phil Marsh from Milton Keynes, who's from Railway Magazine and a former senior executive for Network Rail, talks to Jessica Cooper.

The social networking website Twitter was making the headlines last week as rumours spread about riots in different areas of the Three Counties. Jessica has been finding out how Hertfordshire police are using Twitter to engage with local communities.

Rural areas in England and Scotland have been allocated more than 拢300m to improve their broadband connections. More than 拢1m is to be allocated to both Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire will get more than 拢2m.
