How Green Was My Father: A Welsh Odyssey for 1976
In this clip from 'How Green Was My Father - A Welsh Odyssey for 1976', Ryan Davies plays multiple roles in.
By the time Ryan Davies died tragically young at the age of 40 on 22 April 1977, he had appeared in everything from Under Milk Wood alongside Richard Burton to panto at the Grand Theatre, Swansea. His great talent was his ability to win over almost any audience and hold them in the palm of his hand. Remarkably, his Welsh-language television shows drew a large band of devoted non-speakers, gripped by his eloquent physical style of performance.
Ryan Davis first made his name on Welsh language television shows such as the sitcom Fo a Fe and Ryan and Ronnie in which he appeared with Ronnie Williams. Ryan and Ronnie were the first comedians ever to make TV series in Welsh and English, and were thought of fondly as the Welsh answer to Morecombe and Wise.
