Charity collections

David FitzGerald with your views on the day's big stories including Devon at One.

Do you fill those plastic charity bags left on your doorstep? How much goes to charity?

Have you ever received a collection bag through your letterbox encouraging you to donate your unwanted goods to charity?

Perhaps asking for old clothes, shoes or toys.

Once filled up, you leave the bag on your doorstep and the charity pops back, takes the items away and gives them to those in need.

Or so you thought....

According to research by the British Heart Foundation, as little as one third of the items donated to charity via doorstep donations end up going to charity.

Fitz will be finding out more this lunchtime and wants to hear about your experiences of charity donations.
