Tribute Goods
Dan Snow describes the vast quantities of 'tribute' goods that were required from conquered tribes. If the goods weren't delivered into Tenochtitlan (capital of the Aztec Empire) to Montezuma's satisfaction, he often sought human sacrifice in retribution.
Dan Snow also discovers how, in a titanic clash of cultures, their leader Montezuma faced up to a mortal threat from another world - the weaponry, gold lust and greed of 16th-century Spanish conquistadors.
