More about this programme

The Blues is not always 'feeling down' music. This programme is about 'Good Time Blues'. It focuses on Blues singers who made their living by moving around playing to audiences wherever they could find them. Sam Chatmon would quit his farm work during the slack season and go on tour, perhaps up through Mississippi to Memphis, Tennessee and back again, cracking jokes, telling stories and singing a love song along the way.
