Celebrated singer and piper, Rona Lightfoot, has a long history with the School of Scottish Studies - not only was she recorded by researchers from the school as a child on South Uist but so were most of her family, including her mother. The first film made by the School of Scottish Studies was a recording of a Waulking Song, featuring Kate MacDonald, Rona's mother.
