The International Labour Organisation has talked about the 'bad luck' of a generation whose working lives started after the Great Recession.

Lesley Curwen talks to Dr. John Goldthorpe of Nuffield College Oxford, who suggests the effects of early joblessness may be long-lasting.

One example is Stephen Waller from the north east of England, who left school in the damaging UK recession of the 1980s and has often struggled to find work. He explains that some of his friends have never worked.
