SWT need 拢100k to buy Knettishall Heath, and it's a weekend of Cylco Cross in Ipswich's Chantry park.
Rob brings you big news for Suffolk Wildlife Trust as they try and buy Knettishall Heath.
They've provisionally agreed a deal with the Riddlesworth Estate with some funding coming from the Heritage Lottery.
But, they also need to raise a further 拢100,000 by the end of January.
The Trust's Audrey Boyle tells Rob why it's such a special area.
The Country park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest with its unspoilt heath, grassland and intricate mosaic of acid and chalky soils.
Onto the first of many sporting events in 2012 and the National Cyclo-Cross Championships roll into Ipswich's Chantry Park this weekend.
Cyclo Cross is described as "fast and furious, taking in the best of mountain biking and road cycling."
The last time the nationals came to Ipswich was in 2002, when the winner was international star Roger Hammond, who will be riding this weekend.
The main feature of the event is the Elite National Championships at 2.15pm on Sunday.
The first race takes place today at 11am.
