The Mayor of Bedford is to investigate why petrol prices are higher in his town and the surrounding areas.

Figures from the council - confirmed by 大象传媒 Three Counties Radio - suggest that filling up with 30 litres a week of unleaded is 拢78 more expensive a year in Bedford than Milton Keynes, and 拢62 more than Luton.

Dave Hodgson says it's unacceptable that drivers who use petrol stations in Bedford are forced to pay higher prices. He intends to write to the bosses of all fuel companies to demand change.
