The American Singer and actress Whitney Houston has died in Los Angeles at the age of 48.
Police say that she died in her room at the Beverly Hills Hotel where she had been staying as a guest.
Police were sent to the hotel and paramedics who were already on site tried to resuscitate her without success.
An autopsy is likely to be held within the next two days however if drugs or alcohol are involved it will take between six to eight weeks for toxicology tests to be completed.
