The Prime Minister David Cameron is to call for bars, supermarkets and the drinks industry to do more to make people drink responsibly.
Today he travels to a hospital in the North East where he will promise to tackle the scandal of public drunkenness and alcohol abuse that costs the NHS 拢2.7bn a year.
Mr Cameron wants more police on patrol in A and E departments and US inspired "Drunk Tanks" to lock people up over night until they're sober. Meanwhile the Alcohol Alliance campaign group wants the Prime Minister to introduce a minimum price on alcohol to protect young people from alcohol marketing.
