Collecting toxin

Scientist Anna Nekaris collects toxin from a slow loris as she searches to uncover the mystery of why slow lorises are the world's only venomous primate. The oily fluid secreted from a gland near the loris' elbow only becomes toxic when mixed with its saliva. This toxin can therefore be used as venom when either biting an attacker or when catching and eating prey.
