The Road Haulage Association has criticised an idea to let learner drivers on the motorway.
The Department for Transport is preparing to consult on the idea.
The Association of Driving Instructors and the Institute for Advanced Motorists says they support the idea and that it can't happen soon enough.
They say teenagers need to get over the fear that currently exists about motorways and that statistically they're actually the safest roads, so young drivers should be encouraged to use them much more.
