The Museum of Modern Art exhibition "Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream"; Turkish born photographer Ferit Kuyas has documented the changing suburbs of Chongqing, China; the Urban Age Awards.
The best of the world's arts, film, music and literature brought to you every day. Presented by Lawrence Pollard.
A special Strand programme looking at the global city and its housing needs.
It features a report from the Museum of Modern Art about "Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream" - an exploration of new architecture for cities and suburbs in the aftermath of the recent foreclosure crisis.
We talk to the Turkish born photographer Ferit Kuyas who has documented the changing suburbs of Chongqing in China - the "City of Mist" is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with 36 million people living in its hinterland.
But does it take more than urban planning and housing design to improve social cohesion and networks in a city?
We discuss this with one of the leading voices in the field, Prof Ricky Burdett, director of LSE Cities and a judge of this year's Urban Age Award.
