Newmarket Hatchfield Farm proposal thrown out

Plans to build over a thousand new homes on Newmarket's Hatchfield Farm have been thrown out. Lord Derby also wanted to build a primary school and retail units on the site that he owns.

People in Newmarket are welcoming news that plans for 1,200 new homes in the town have been rejected. Chiefs from Newmarket's racing industry said the scheme would have a negative impact on their business. Our reporter Andrea Davidson has the latest.
