The upper schools in central Bedfordshire have joined forces in a bid to open a free school that would deal solely with the pupils they exclude.
A consortium of 10 upper schools, supported by the Oak Bank School for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties want to open a free school for up to 140 pupils.
The school would be across two sites - at the Kingsland site in Dunstable and the former Roecroft Lower School in Stotfold.
