Trembling Bells with Muldoon's Picnic - Live Session

Marc has a live session from Trembling Bells with Muldoon's Picnic.

Marc Riley has a live session from the wondrous Trembling Bells with Muldoon's Picnic.

The Duchess EP - featuring Trembling Bells, Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Muldoon's Picnic - has been released on on Honest Jon's records, vinyl-only for the purists out there.

The first side is comprised of four songs from The Marble Downs sessions, with Will Oldham duetting with Trembling Bells singer Lavinia Blackwall. Oldham first met Trembling Bells' principal songwriter Alex Neilson back in 2005, when the former produced Alasdair Roberts' No Earthly Man, and Neilson was drummer. Neilson went on to play drums with Oldham himself, before forming Trembling Bells in 2008.

The second side dates back to Neilson's chance encounter with the Scottish a-cappella quintet Muldoon's Picnic, at an open mic evening in Glasgow. Inspired by what he heard, Neilson "very quickly" wrote a number of songs, including those performed on this side by Muldoon's Picnic, together with Alex and Lavinia.

In for tonight's session we have Alex and Lavinia (Trembling Bells) and Harry Campbell and Katy Cooper (part of Muldoon's Picnic). It will be very, very interesting - guaranteed.

Tracks include:
- The Holmfirth Anthem
- Bells Of Oxford
- There's Nothing Nobler Than Yorkshire In October
