The local elections have had their lowest turnout since 2000.

In one of our local wards, Welwyn Hatfield, only 1 in 5 people used their opportunity to have their voice heard.

In terms of results, it was a good night for Labour, a bad night for the Conservatives and an ugly night for the Liberal Democrats. Labour have taken control of more than 20 councils, the Conservatives have lost 9 councils - and the Lib Dems have lost 1.
