Sea of Bees - Live Session
There's a real buzz about Marc Riley's session band - The Sea of Bees (sorry, that's bad). Luckily the band are not bad, they're bloomin' wonderful!
The debut album from Sea of Bees - aka Sacramento-born and based Julie Ann Baenziger - was Songs For The Ravens. Her new album Orangefarben (German for the colour of orange) was released earlier this month. A very talented lady, as well as providing the vocals, Julie Ann plays most of the instruments on this album.
Raised in Roseville, a conservative suburb of Sacramento, California, in a religious household where only Christian rock was deemed fit fir purpose, Baenziger eventually broke free and started writing songs and playing house shows.
She was soon discovered by John Baccigaluppi, owner of Hangar Studios, who provided the means to record her debut EP Bee Eee Pee. This led to Heavenly signing her and the rest, as they say, is history.
Tracks include:
- Girl
- Gone
- Please
