NHS infertility treatment in England and Wales could be extended to women up to 42 and same-sex couples under proposals from the body, Nice, which sets clinical guidelines for the health service.
At the moment, couples may only be eligible if the woman is between 23 and 39 at the time of treatment and a cause for their fertility problems has been identified or they have had infertility problems for at least three years.
But, with each IVF treatment costing the NHS around 拢3,000 and with huge financial issues already facing the National Health Service, do the proposals make sense, either financially or otherwise to you?
