First transmitted in 1997, John Ware reports on the serious challenges facing the London Underground service. The investigation uncovers a multitude of worrying findings, including century old crumbling tunnels, 40-year-old decrepit trains and carriages, and signals and tracks that have seen their heyday but have been insufficiently patched up in order to keep the service running.Ware speaks to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott on the new Labour Government's proposals for tacking the crisis and for preventing the London Underground system from collapsing down the tube.
